GetFairways ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website at getfairways.com and the GetFairways golf tournament management platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

By using GetFairways, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create a GetFairways account, we collect your email address and password. If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe processes your payment information — GetFairways never stores credit card numbers, bank account details, or other financial instrument data.

Tournament and player data

When you create tournaments and register players, we collect:

• Player names, email addresses, and phone numbers (when provided)
• Handicap indexes and golf scores
• Tournament settings, course information, and event details
• Payment records for entry fees (processed via Stripe)

Automatically collected information

When you use GetFairways, we automatically collect:

• Device type, browser type, and operating system
• IP address and approximate location
• Pages visited and features used
• Date and time of access

GPS location data

If you use the GPS Rangefinder feature, your device's location is used locally to calculate distances to greens. GPS coordinates are processed on your device and are not stored on our servers. Green coordinate data (which you pin during course setup) is stored as part of your course record.

3. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the GetFairways platform
• Process tournament registrations, scoring, and leaderboard updates
• Process payments through Stripe
• Send transactional emails (registration confirmations, subscription notices)
• Respond to support requests
• Improve and develop new features
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
• Supabase: Database hosting and authentication. Data is stored with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled on every table.
• Vercel: Website hosting and content delivery.
• Resend: Transactional email delivery (registration confirmations).
• Tournament participants: Player names, handicaps, and scores are visible on tournament leaderboards to other participants in the same tournament. Email addresses and phone numbers are only visible to the tournament administrator.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

5. Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

• All connections are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• Database access is secured with Row Level Security (RLS) — your tournament data is only accessible to you and your designated administrators
• Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store card details
• Authentication is managed by Supabase Auth with secure session handling
• Edge Functions use rate limiting and CORS restrictions

6. Data retention

We retain your account and tournament data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data remains accessible until the end of your billing period. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@getfairways.com.

Completed tournaments are archived and remain accessible to the administrator who created them. Rate limiting logs are automatically deleted after 24 hours.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored by GetFairways
• Correct inaccurate information in your account or tournament data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your tournament and player data
• Opt out of promotional communications

8. Cookies

GetFairways uses essential cookies and local storage for authentication (keeping you signed in) and application state. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

9. Children's privacy

GetFairways is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of GetFairways after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
